Managing Customer Demands for Technology Increase
Synectics is the leading provider of on-board surveillance systems for the UK and global bus market. With over 25 years of experience working with both national and smaller bus operators alike, we provide the expertise, knowledge and technology to assist in providing essential evidence footage for your vehicles.
Our on-board CCTV systems are deployed on buses around the globe, and we work closely to meet the ever growing surveillance requirements of our customers. Synectics offers the expertise, knowledge and future-proof technology to assist bus operators in collating, reviewing and sharing essential evidence footage and telematics data.
Ian Foster, Engineering Director of Metroline explains: “From the start, we have had a strong relationship with Synectics, based on good service and a willingness to work with us on existing and new projects as our demands of technology increase.”
In late 2014 Synectics secured a new three year service contract with Metroline to support and maintain CCTV systems on their fleet of 1,600 vehicles. This included the installation of 400 x T1600 DVR upgrades to Metroline West fleet (acquired from First Group) over a six month period.
Backed by a plc company, Synectics was already a market leader, having established a requirement for CCTV within the bus market, and the first company to supply operators with a surveillance solution. Original customers included Blackpool Transport and London Bus Operators.
Now with over 25 years of experience, Synectics is still the leading provider of on-board surveillance systems for the bus and coach market both in the UK and globally.
Synectics offers the expertise, knowledge and future-proof technology to assist operators in collating, reviewing and sharing essential evidence footage and telematics data.
Synectics offered a reliable, cost effective, future-proof solution supporting a combination of IP and analogue recording technology by installing T1600 hybrid DVRs with HD IP road cameras and CMOS cameras to the agreed specification.
The delivery of a schedule minimising disruption to daily operations included two teams of engineers, who were deployed to complete the installations over six separate depot locations. Working nights, the project was completed comfortably within the six month timescale given by Metroline.
Where possible, all existing camera and monitor equipment was integrated to the upgraded DVR and other installed equipment, keeping costs to a minimum. Using our enhanced back-office software solution, Synergy 3, offered scope for further integration. Technical engineers co-ordinated the PC upgrades required to support the Synergy 3 software installation at each of the depots, as well as providing a full training package for Metroline staff. Further regular training updates for newly released software applications are available on request.
